Coming on-stage with a gruff demeanor and a booze-swiller’s bad ass attitude, comedian Kyle Kinane surprises newcomers with his unexpectedly well-crafted standup sets. Born in Chicago, Kinane first tried his hand at comedy while attending Columbia College, influenced by the loose yet confident work of Mitch Hedberg and Patton Oswalt. He moved to Los Angeles in 2003 to pursue his craft, and by 2007, he was invited to the Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival along with the television show Last Call with Carson Daly. In 2010, he released his debut album Death of the Party on the Aspecialthing label, and a year later, he starred in his own episode of the Comedy Central Presents series. In 2012 he worked alongside Bob Odenkirk, Zach Galifianakis, and others and developed an animated series for Comedy Central called Triptank. The cable television network’s record label released his sophomore album, Whiskey Icarus, in 2013

See Killer Beaz (Showtime, CMT) live at Brewsky’s in Hattiesburg on Friday, March 1, 2013! Featuring Mercer Morrison and David W. Smith. Hosted by Jamie Arrington. Doors open at 6:00PM. Show starts at 7:00PM. Tickets are $15.00. Come early and bring your appetite!
Twenty-nine years of stage, television and radio and touring throughout the country, Killer Beaz – with his trademark “Save Up!” refrain- has become a familiar, beloved performer to millions of comedy fans nationwide. Born Truett S Beasley, Jr., Killer Beaz delivers edgy, high-energy “everyman”- style humor that appeals to a wide audience, selling out venues from Anchorage, Alaska to Miami, Florida.
With well over a hundred national television appearances, Beaz is a familiar face of comedy. Several nationally syndicated radio shows allow Beaz to entertain millions of his fans on a regular basis, through phone calls as well as in studio appearances. Beaz has a lengthy list of radio stations that request him to call in his “Beaz Reports”, keeping him very in touch with the fan-base he has and continues to build. Working with stations ranging from Alternative to Country, Beaz has something for everyone. Killer Beaz strives to be funny, without the need to be offensive. A gifted story teller, with tons of punch-lines, his shows are fast paced and fun! Beaz’s quick wit and mastery of the ad-lib ensure that at his shows, anything can happen. It’s easy to see that Beaz is in love with his art form.
“SAVE UP!”, his latest release, is available now at www.killerbeaz.com, CDBaby.com, and various nation-wide retail outlets. In addition to the “Killer” stand up performance, the project includes two musical tracks. “Henpecked Hero”, the first release to radio was co-written by Killer Beaz and country music artist, David Lee Murphy (Dust on the Bottle/Party Crowd). Rock and Roll icon, Ed King (Lynyrd Skynyrd) contributed the guitar parts, and the legendary Jimmy Hall (Wet Willie/Prisoners of Love) handled the lead vocals and harp duties. Needless to say, these tracks are “Smokin”!
SHAKEN NOT STIRRED, his first comedy project, distributed through the Compendia Distribution Group, is available at retail locations nation-wide. “We’re thrilled to have a talented performer like Killer Beaz,” said Walt Wilson, vice president/general manager of the Compendia Label. “Beaz has a huge fan-base nation-wide, so making his album readily available at retail was the next right step.”
Truett S Beasley, Jr., (“Thanks, Dad!”) got his start in show business playing blues guitar in Jackson, Mississippi. “Beaz, as his friends call him, played lead guitar. One night, while playing a solo, someone shouted. “That was killer, Beaz!” The name stuck. So, naturally, when he made the jump to comedy, he carried the name with him. And what a jump it was! Using intense desire and a belief that it was “meant to be” as a springboard, Beaz started out at the best place possible … the bottom!
Biker bars, pool halls, country music places, and blues rooms all make up a string of one night stands throughout the Delta, he fondly called “The Chitlin Circuit”. During his 317 performances in these trenches, Beaz’s “killer” stage presence was quite obvious. In 1984, Beaz traveled to Chicago on a business trip. Upon his arrival he heard about ZANIES Comedy Showplace, he skipped his meeting that evening and headed to check it out. Jay Leno was the headlining act that evening, and the first comedian Beaz had ever seen perform live. While Leno’s performance was awesome, Beaz was equally thrilled to discover that there were places that people came for the sole purpose of seeing stand-up comedy.
He left that evening with a renewed sense of direction. A few years later, he once again walked through the door of ZANIES Comedy Showplace, only this time, Beaz was the headlining act. He developed a great relationship with the people of ZANIES. Through the years, Beaz has the most stage time of any comedian on the ZANIES Nashville stage, so much so, that when they promote his shows there, they refer to ZANIES Nashville as “The House That Beaz Built!”
Beaz calls the show, “The feel good show of the season!” Maybe that is why Rolling Stone Magazine says of the show, “Beaz is ‘Killer’!” or why USA Today says he is a “Star rising in the South”. With the release of the Killer Beaz album, “Save Up!”, a new album in the works, and an upcoming video release in the Fall of 2009, Beaz continues to use his successful formula of high energy with universal appeal as one of the nations top comics touring theatres and large clubs throughout the country. “Save Up!” Find out more about this “King of Comedy!” as he is hailed by the Clarion-Ledger at www.killerbeaz.com , and don’t miss an opportunity to catch “The Best Buzz in Town”…you’ll be stung for life!!!
